With the flesh off the bone, it’s hard to tell what animal this might be at first glance, so the display label is useful for the visitor. Then they might notice what’s lying around it – burger wrappers? Yep, that’s right, the museum is reminding us that what we have cultivated over thousands of years is now a staple foodstuff of our diet. And not a sustainable one, at that.

We eat 300 million cattle a year and huge areas of the planet have to be cleared not only to house them, but also to grow their feed. And then, at the end of it all, there’s a skull left over.
