These couldn’t belong to anyone else. Tourists might not be expecting to encounter these objects, or even this museum, on the island of Zanzibar. It’s where Farrokh Bulsara, better known to us as Freddie Mercury, lived with his family until they moved to England in 1963.
There’s more to the exhibition than just the story of a music legend, however. The museum offers a detailed accord of Zanzibar from the late 1800s before going on to show the context of a childhood that ultimately led to one of the bigger rock legends of all time.
