Apothecary jars, Royal College of Physicians Museum, London

Yet another object collage. I just can’t get enough of them. This example shows a wall of tin-glazed ceramic jars, used by wealthy apothecaries in the 1600s and 1700s to house their treatments. With their decorative Latin labels, the jars were functional, but also fashionable and attractive, designed to impress customers and fellow practitioners alike.
