What a woman may be and not have the vote, The Women’s Library

Convicts, lunatics and drunkards - step forward to register your vote. Female mayors, doctors and teachers - stay away.

This poster was published 1913 by the Suffrage Atelier, a society formed to encourage artists to forward the women's movement. It was on display a few years ago at The Women’s Library, but this has since had to close.

The collection is still available at LSE and via the LSE Library’s Google Arts and Culture page. And here’s the individual object entry with a much better image of the one I captured on my phone, a while back.

So while the object itself may not now be on display, its image - and its legacy - are both out there for all to see.
