Step into the world of Igor Gazdík (1943–2006) – art historian, librarian and bibliophile – in this innovative display of books. Once housed in a block of flats, today in the gallery space, the collection offers visitors as close to an ‘authentic’ experience as possible in this re-design of Gazdík's home library. It’s a trip through Art Nouveau, modernist typography, and illustration in a living room setting.
Gazdik’s book collection was acquired by the gallery shortly following his death with the objective of preserving his extensive, specialised collection in its entirety. It’s currently on display in the exhibition Biblioman: Bibliophile books and book design from the collection of Igor Gazdík.
