The social history of the hamlets and villages around the Cornish resort of Perranporth is preserved in this volunteer-run museum, complete with recreated kitchen. And no kitchen is complete without food models. Take a sniff of the Cornish pasty, huddle up to the range, have a go with the carpet beater and see if you can spot the cat. When museums talk about creating immersive experiences, they don’t get much more immersive than this.
