History and heritage are constantly being revisited and reinvented. In this case, an artist has created a 3D replica (of sorts) of the Portland Vase in the British Museum. But Michael Eden didn’t get to handle the original. He did a google image search for photos of the vase and then used that to build a digital model of the original.
It’s shown at New Walk Museum in Leicester alongside a more ‘accurate’ replica. I think I prefer the angular version from the 3D printer, though.
